You are welcome to November, our month of Possessing our Possessions.
What do we understand by possessing our possessions?
• Our possessions are what rightly belongs to us.
• They are belongings that are entitled to us either by birth, adoption, by means of earnings or gifts.
The Bible says that God has given us an inheritance in him by adoption through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ- Ephesians 1:4,14.
These inheritance includes all that we need for our daily living and spiritual growth. 2Peter 1:3 says “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertains unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue”. These include our health, finances, well being, daily resources, jobs, academic excellence, spiritual growth and every good things.
In Genesis 31:14-21, we see how Jacob possessed all his possessions that he earned while he worked with his father-in-law.
Because we live in a fallen world where demonic activities and sin reigns, we as children of God have been victims in which the enemy took what belongs to us. But praise to God who by his grace made power available to us by his Holy Spirit to possess our possessions. Just like David in 1 Samuel 30:8, we must be ready to pursue, overtake, and recover all.
What do we need to do to Possess what is ours?
• Trust in God
• Obey God’s word
• Recognize God is able to conquer on our behalf
• Access the power to possess through prayer
• Recover all in thanksgiving
Is it possible to recover all without God’s power? Absolutely not!
Is it possible to have God’s power without knowing God? No!
Therefore the first step to taking back our possessions is accepting God by declaring Jesus as our savior, then he can fight on our behalf and our Victory will be ascertained.
Repent of sins that could be giving your possessions to the enemy today and come to Jesus, trust him and in the power of his might available in his Holy Spirit and then you will receive empowerment to possess all of God’s inheritance that has been made available through Christ Jesus.
