MY MONTH OF SHALOM
Psalm 124:1 says, “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, let Israel now say.” People of
God, if it had not been God on our side from January to December, where would we be? We made
it to the last month of the year 2023. God has been faithful! Hallelujah! By prophecy, December
is our month of Shalom (Peace of God). May you experience God’s unusual peace in this very
month in Jesus mighty name – amen!
Thank God for the month of November, our month of “Set time”. We thank God for testimonies
on all sides, healing and deliverance, journey mercies locally and internationally and many new
beginnings. To Him be all the glory!
Thank you to all the workers, Head of Departments, Deacons/Deaconesses, and the Pastoral for
all your support and sacrifices to the development of God’s Kingdom. May the Lord reward you
in Jesus’ name – amen. I want to specially thank the following departments and their leaders: Choir
(Royal Priesthood), Sunday School, Training & Development, Children’s church, Saturday
devotion, Good morning Holy Spirit, Youth Church, Sanitation, Caregate (Welfare), Ushering,
Holy Police, House Fellowship, College of Ministers, Prayer Band, Men’s group, Women’s group,
Elder’s group, Family Sunday, Bible Study, Media, Decoration, Business Office ( Account
receivable and payable), Newsletter, Weekly announcement, God-will-do-it nondenominational
program and all the administrative team. You are all the best. May you be divinely rewarded in
Jesus mighty name – amen.
As said earlier, this is our month of Shalom. Judges 6:24 says “Then Gideon built an altar there
unto the Lord and called it Jehovah-Shalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.”
SOME FEW FACTS ABOUT LIFE
• The desire of every human is to get home after a long day of work, school or whatever.
• Today, we are living in a fearful and chaotic world. We experience threats from every area
of life.
• Many family’ lives are in a state of chaos. Stress at work and threat of layoffs. Marriages
and families have fallen apart. Friends betray friends.
• Love of money has replaced the fire of God, ritual for fame, power, and money everywhere.
• We have forgotten there is a home for us.
WHAT DO WE MEAN BY SHALOM?
• Shalom means seeking peace on every side.
• Shalom means doing good because there is a reward for good.
• Shalom means when one’s life is complete or whole.
• Shalom could also mean when your long journey of lack turns into surplus.
WHAT IS THE OPPOSITE OF SHALOM?
• When one’s life is not in correct order.
• When one is unsettled in every aspect of life.
• When one is going through the same struggle and affliction of life again and again.
• When health issue or diagnoses arise.
• When one is unstable in one’s calling and career.
• When one constantly experiences sorrow.
• When there are more struggles than testimonies.
Beloved, before you can experience shalom you must have something in mind and answer a
personal question. Do you want to hear the question? “When Shall You Prepare for Your Own
House?”
Jacob is an example of someone who enjoyed Shalom. The story of Jacob in Laban’s house:
• Jacob was hardworking in Laban’s house.
• Jacob was the one who intentionally signed himself up for slavery.
• The struggle of Jacob was because of unbrokenness and unfaithfulness.
• Jacob became a nobody but an ordinary man that did not remember home due to his life of
adultery he was living in Laban’s house.
• Jacob wasted God’s anointing, grace and strength and became miserable.
WHAT ARE THE WARNING SIGNS THAT YOU ARE NOT PREPARING FOR HOME?
• When your life does not glorify God.
• When you are supposed to be a helper but rather you are the opposite.
• When carnality is now what you celebrate.
• When you see sin as a lifestyle.
• When serving God means nothing to you.
• When supporting darkness against God is what you prefer.
WHO ARE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE PREPARED FOR HOME?
• People who stay away from sin. 1 John 3:8
• People who believe that Jesus can save. Act. 16:31
• People who are ready to resist the devil. James 4:7
• People who are ready to take the word of God seriously. Joshua 1:8
• People who are ready to deal with carnity and purify their hearts. Psalms 24:3-6
• People that are ready to pay prize for their Shalom.
As we have gotten to the end year 2023, What is your plan for your home? Were you able to make
Jesus your home? Do you know making Jesus your home guarantees you Shalom. Living Jacob’s
life is not an option. Going through Damascus is not a better option either. Making Jesus your
home is rewarding not only in heaven, but even in this world.
There is no home outside of Jesus. Any home you are in currently outside of Jesus can be
destructive. Without Jesus, there is no life or better life. Follow Jesus, today! Jacob experienced a
long depressing journey. He lost Rachael on the way. Jacob fought through until he was left alone
to experience his Shalom. Jacob said to the angel, I will not let you go until you show me a way
home which is Jesus Christ. After the Angel wrestled Jacob and couldn’t win. The Angel said
because you have fought with God and won, your name would no longer called Jacob but Israel.
Jacob got what he wanted! Friends are in the state of Jacob today as we are all seated here, Jesus
is looking for you. A great home is awaiting you.
Beloved, life can be unfair and sometimes, we can be in trails of terrible situation. Nevertheless,
God is about to set you up for Shalom. As we step into the prophecy of this month of December,
walk hand in hand with God to experience Shalom. Let him lead and direct you.
In this season of Shalom, may the Lord bless and keep you, and cause His face to shine upon you.
and be gracious unto you and lift His countenance upon you and give you peace in Jesus’ name –
amen. Welcome to the month of Shalom
