You are all welcome to the month of ‘Supernatural Love’. June is the sixth month and also the second quarter of the year where God’s supernatural love is ever abounding –  1 John 4:7-8(NKJV) Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Supernatural love is God’s divine love towards mankind that is unfathomable by anyone. The kind of love that is unquantifiable and can never be found elsewhere.

The Bible records in Isaiah 49:15-1615Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. 16Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

When you were saved, the Almighty God became your Father.  As written in the holy book, God is love – 1 John 4:8 – this means that you are the love offspring of a love God.  For you are born of God and God is love, you are born of love.  You are now a part of a loving family.

It is not possible to be part of God’s love family and not have a genuine love in your heart for everyone.  As our text Scripture says, “… the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”

God’s family is a loving family and love should be the basis of everything we do.  As believers, we are commanded to love other believers.  We are to treat them with deference, dignity, and respect.  We are to act compassionately towards one another.

Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way, I loved you, you love one another.” (John 13:34)

As children of love, we are also commanded to love our enemies.

... I’m telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created self. This is what God does. He gives his best–the sun to warm and the rain to nourish–to everyone, regardless: the good and bad. If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that.” -Matthew 5:44-46 (Message Bible).  However, the onus lies on us to either exemplify the love that resides within us or not.

This is what Jesus has done for us for while we were still sinners, so unlovable and repulsive to God, he allowed his precious son to die for our sins, in our place.  Now, in the same way Jesus walked in love towards us while we were His enemies, we are called to walk in love towards our enemies.

Jesus unconditional love for us is what hooked us and reeled us in.  His unconditional love demonstrated through us is what will hook the lost people of the world and reel them in.  This is what He meant when He said, “Follow Me and I’ll make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19)

This oftentimes involves a great degree of suffering.  It’s not always easy to walk in love towards the hateful, hurting people of the world.  It can be quite difficult indeed but this is exactly what it means to enter into Christ’s sufferings.

For unto you  it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake.” (Philippians 1:29)

We are not to suffer from Jesus through sickness, disease, and poverty.  Jesus Himself never suffered from sickness or disease.  Jesus was not poor either.  Poor people don’t have treasurers and Jesus had a treasurer.  His name was Judas. (John 13:29)

We are to suffer from Christ as we walk in love towards the unlovable, unreached, sinful people of the world.  Jesus suffered tremendous persecution, rejection, false accusation and injustice in order to reach humanity with God’s Word and God’s love.  We will suffer in all the same ways with Him as we reach out with God’s Word and God’s love.

There is suffering, and sacrifice involved when we choose to lay down our own will to reach others with the message of Jesus Christ.  God gave Jesus; Jesus gave of Himself.  We must also give of ourselves.

Conclusively,  in place of exchanging cursing for cursing, I exchange blessing for cursing and the end result is Hell is plundered and Heaven is populated.  Try it.  It works.  Love never fails. (1Corinthians 13:8)

Someone always says, “But Pastor, what if I try that and nothing happens?”  To which I always answer, “What if you do it and something does happen?”  Trust God Walk in love.  You do a little thing, releasing your love and your faith.  God will do a big thing and move supernaturally.  Heaven will be populated.  Hell will be plundered.  God will get the Glory and you’ll come out looking pretty good yourself. As children of love we are also commanded to love our enemies; supernatural love always produces supernatural results.

Be supernaturally blessed as you walk in supernatural love in Jesus name – Amen!
