You are welcome to the month of May 2020. This month is declared our month “To Arise and Shine.” Yes, I am so excited. The Bible says in Psalm 34:19 that “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” This means that yes, we will go through challenges and trials but then the great deliverance comes, and we arise from all and shine. Hallelujah!Isaiah 60:1-22, is our prophetic reading in this month of May. Verse 1 says: ‘Arise from the spiritual depression to a new life, shine, be radiant with the glory and brilliance of the Lord; for your light has come. And the glory and brilliance of the lord has risen upon you’ -Amp Bible. The word of God says ‘Arise’, brethren, this is a command.• Let us in faith arise from poverty to prosperity.• Let us arise from shame into acceptance.• Let us arise from faulty foundation into God’s purposeful life• Let us arise from limited into abundance.• Let us arise from sin into salvation.• Let us arise from the past into the future.• Let us arise from ordinary into extraordinary. The word arise means to proceed, to spring forth, to originate, to emanate, to come up or come out of something. This word is from the Lord, and the words of God are sure and perfect Ezekiel 12:25. To arise also is a sign of life and our God is powerful to bring every dead situation back to life. How to Arise• For us to arise from darkness into light, we need to connect with Christ. John 1:4-5 says “In him was life and the power to bestow life, and the life was the light of men. Vs 5; The light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it.” We need to know Christ and hold on to him.• We can arise by fighting a good fight. Our fight is in Christ our Lord. Our connection in Christ gives us the strength and the weapons we need to fight our way out into the light.• We can arise by praying. The Bible says in 1Thess 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.” Our prayers rise to God and are heard. We should not relent in prayers at anytime knowing that we wrestle not against flesh and blood.• We can arise by asking God and receiving his goodness. The Bible says we should ask, and we will receive. Receiving is an important aspect of partaking in this glory. We will shine when we receive of God’s promises and then our lives will reflect his glory. When we refuse to arise, we may be succumbed by the enemies and denied generational freedom. Therefore, we should make a sharp U-turn to God, Matt 11:28. We should live a life of prayer, Acts 6:4. We should ask the Holy Spirit for help, and believe in the anointing in Christ Jesus. Are you a father, mother, sister, brother, or a parent and it has been very difficult for you to arise? Or have you been defeated by the enemies? Jesus is the answer you need today and surely you will arise and shine in his glory for the glory has come already. – Tosin Badejo
