My Month of Faithfulness
by Pastor Olusogo Daramola
Welcome, family, to the month of February, the second month in the year 2022. This month, we
will be celebrating the church’s 5th year Anniversary and also, our beloved Pastor and Pastor Mrs.
Daramola’s birthday. The month February will be a month full of answered prayers and open doors
that truly shows the faithfulness of God in Jesus’ mighty name.
We would like to thank God for seeing us through the month of Significance. It was a month of
thanksgiving and celebration for the Redeemed Christian Church of God worldwide. We say
congratulations to our four newly graduated workers. We thank God for how far He has brought
you.
I would like to specially thank God for preserving everyone’s lives till this day. Despite the
enemy’s plans, God made us escape and preserved our souls according to Psalm 124:7: “Our soul
is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.”
The prophecy for the month of February is the “Month of God’s Faithfulness”. I pray for you that
as you begin and continue in this month, you will experience God’s faithfulness now and beyond
in Jesus’ name, amen!
Our prophesy is from 1 Thessalonians 5:24: “He who called you is faithful, who also will do it. It
does not matter what you are going through now or however difficult or impossible your present
predicament might seem, I pray for you this moment, that you will experience God’s unwavering
faithfulness and your situation will be turned around for good in Jesus’ name. Amen.
According to Wikipedia, faithfulness is the concept of unfailingly remaining loyal to someone or
something and putting that loyalty into consistent practice regardless of extenuating circumstances.
Faithfulness is not automatic, it is not easy to be faithful especially the age we are, living in an
unfaithful world.
Romans 3:2-4 (The Message) says: “So, what if, in the course of doing that, some of those Jews
abandoned their post? God didn’t abandon them. Do you think their faithlessness cancels out
His faithfulness? Not on your life! Depend on it: God keeps his word even when the whole world
is lying through its teeth.” The above scriptures make it clear that even when we are not faithful,
God remains faithful. You can totally depend on God. He keeps His word. God does not abandon
us; He always comes through. This is why we need to reciprocate God’s faithfulness by being
faithful also to Him.
In this present era, there are couple of factors that could affect one from being totally faithful to
God. These may include disappointments from family, friends or leaders, or disappointments from
unanswered prayers.
Opposition to Our Faithfulness
- Discontent.
- Spiritual laziness
- Spiritual cruelty (lacking empathy for others)
- Compromise
- Spiritual weariness and fatigue
- Procrastination
Benefits of Being Faithful
- Faithfulness expands our faith – Col. 2:6-7
- Faithfulness demonstrates the reality of God- Act. 16:29-30
- Faithfulness creates better families and godly relationship- Hebrew 10:25
- Faithfulness provides clear conscience- Act.20:20
- Faithfulness produces good fruit- Gal. 6:9
After going through God’s faithfulness and why we need to reciprocate with being faithful as well,
it is important to know that we cannot do this all by ourselves. Even the Bible makes it clear in
Matthew 26:41 KJV that “the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak”. Hence, surrender to
God and accept help from the Holy Spirit. Jesus died to take away the heavy laden. Allow Him to
do that by accepting Him as your Lord and Savior, and He will help you stay faithful.
I would like to encourage everyone that though the way may be tough and the journey hard, the
road might seem stormy and you might be at the edge of giving up, please, stay with God. Stay
faithful to Him. Do not give up on God because God will never give up on you. He is faithful even
when they entire universe is not. You can bank on God.
So, today and every day after, walk in this prophesy knowing that you have a God that is faithful.
God is out there to bless you more than you can think or imagine. Do not forget that as you continue
to believe in God, He will renew your strength, you shall mount up with wings as eagles; you shall
run, and not be weary; and you shall walk, and not faint. In this season of God’s faithfulness, may
the Lord bless and keep you and cause His face to shine upon you, be gracious unto you and lift
His countenance upon you and give you peace in Jesus’ name. Amen.
